We have named this cuvée ‘Les Amoriers’, (the mulberry trees), which in former times were cultivated on the estate to provide nourishment to the silk worm.
Les Amoriers 2018 won a silver medal with 90 points at the 2021 Decanter World Wine Awards.
The judges described it as “well balanced with a mature full bodied style.”

Vinification
Traditional red vinification with soft pigeage and pump over for a controlled maceration from 15 to 20 days.
Ageing
1/2 in vats, 1/2 in new French oak barrels, a mixture of ‘barrique’ and ‘demi-muids’ for 12 months.

Food Pairing
Grilled steak topped with Ceps or a slow roast leg of lamb.
Nose
Powerful with notes of red cherry and a hint of cocoa.
On the Palate
Well balanced with a silky mouthfeel. A hint of liquorice accompanied by flavours of red fruits. The finish is long with subtle notes of well-integrated oak.
