We have named this wine in memory of Francois Traucat, the celebrated 16th century Nimes gardener, who was responsible for the intensive cultivation of the mulberry tree across the Languedoc and thus the expansion of sericulture in the region.

Mix of rocky and clay limestone
Vinification
Traditional red wine vinification involving soft pigeage and pump overs for a controlled maceration over 15-20 days.
Ageing
Aged in a mix of new and 2/3 year old 'barriques' and 'demi-muids' for a minimum of 12 months

Food Pairing
Superb with all red meats, in particular a roast rib of beef or a shoulder of lamb.
Nose
Complex and elegant with aromas of black and red fruits alongside hints of vanilla and pepper.

Boasting soft tannins, yet full bodied with excellent length. Wonderful black and red fruit notes.
